Seven Biblical Truths, 2nd Installment

Posted on 13 April 2001

Last week we covered 3 points of 7 Biblical Truths that we all need to have implanted in our hearts and minds.

1.  You are loved.

2.  You are a new creation

3.  You are not alone.

Taking you to point # 4 now:

4.  You are forgiven.  Do you realize you really are?  Look at the following verses.

Rom 4:5-8

5          However, to the man who does not work but trusts God who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited as righteousness.

6          David says the same thing when he speaks of the blessedness of the man to whom God credits righteousness apart from works:

7          "Blessed are they whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered.

8          Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord will never count against him." (NIV)

Eph 4:32

32        And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. (KJV)

I Jn 2:12

12        I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name's sake.

Next question I have for you.  Have you forgiven yourself?  If God has, so must you forgive yourself for any foolishness or ignorance or pride or any other kind of missing the mark.

5.  You are secure / safe.

Ps 138:7-8

7          Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou dost preserve my life; thou dost stretch out thy hand against the wrath of my enemies, and thy right hand delivers me.

8          The LORD will fulfil his purpose for me; thy steadfast love, O LORD, endures for ever. Do not forsake the work of thy hands. (RSV)

Rom 8:28

28        And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. (KJV)

John 10:28-29

28        And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

29        My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. (KJV)

Stay in His hand where safety is.  He has you. Nothing can get to you unless He lets it and if it does it is to prove His faithfulness and yours. Nobody can interfere with what God is doing in your life but you.

Isa 54:17

17        No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD. (KJV)

Here it is pretty obvious that only you can do yourself harm spiritually. Others can’t.

6. You belong.

Rom 8:15-16

15        For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

16        The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: (KJV)

Mark 9:41

41        For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward.   (KJV)

Not only do you belong to God as his child, but also to the body of Christ.  See:

Rom 12:4,5

4          For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:

5          So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and  every one members one of another. (KJV)

Eph 2:19

19        Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God; (KJV)

Eph 2:22

22        In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit. (KJV)

See God says you are important, not only to Him but as a member of His body.

7.  As a result of being in the body of Christ, You are Needed.

Rom 14:7

7          For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. (KJV)

Rom 14:19

19        Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another. (KJV)

1 Cor 12:14-15

14        For the body is not one member, but many.

15        If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? (KJV)

1 Cor 12:18

18        But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him. (KJV)

1 Cor 12:21-22

21        And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.

22        Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary: (KJV)

So you see, regardless of your giftings, even it they aren’t like someone else’s, you are needed, you and your giftings are needed.  Your own uniqueness is needed because not everyone can do what you can.  And to make the body of Christ complete, all the parts, members (people) are needed.  The body of Christ is ;not complete when people are missing.

Think about these things this weekend.  God wants to build up His body with all the different people and gifts and you are important to Him and His body and His purposes.

God bless and have a great weekend.  The Good News Lady
