Psalms 1:4-6
4 Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away.
5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
6 For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.
NIV

Good Morning! Last week I spoke of the blessings of the righteous, the believers-followers of God and how they are established before Him. However, the wicked don’t have that as it says,
“Not so the wicked” They don’t get included in the blessings of God. As a matter of fact, the psalmist compares the wicked to chaff blown away by the wind. Now for me that is a comforting thought–that the wicked get blown away. Why does that comfort me? Because I hate the evils that they do and want that stopped. It isn’t that I don’t want them saved, but I certainly don’t want their influence on society. I would rather they see the truth and repent of what they do that is evil in God’s eyes.

This is why getting the truth out to these people is so important. How do we do it? Well for one, we witness. We tell what Jesus has done in our lives and can do for them–opening the door for them to see God’s love for them and leading them into right standing with God and also their constant need to stay in touch with God so that they too can be lights for Jesus.

But the wicked–this means actually ‘twisted’, do not stand. They get blown away like chaff. Are you familiar with this picture? Chaff is the part of the wheat plant that is not gathered into the barn. Only the wheat kernels are gathered. To separate the wheat kernels from the rest of the plant, the Jews and many other peoples who harvested wheat, would first have to harvest the whole plant and lay it on the threshing floor. Once that is done, the plants get stomped on by either feet of people or animals, and this is to enable the wheat to be removed from the plant. Or and stones would be rolled over the plants. Again, pressure is applied. This makes me think of the pressures of the world being used on the fruit of the ground to bring forth its usefulness.

Now once enough pressure from rolling, stomping, etc. was applied, the next thing the harvester would do would be to take a threshing fork and dig it into the pile and throw what gets picked up by the fork into the air so the wind can blow the useless stuff away and at the same time, the wheat will fall back to the ground, just because of its weight. This is how the wheat gets separated from the rest of the plant. This is an old and time tested method that is still used in many places in many countries. And I believe the same process has been used for ages with barley also.

Now our psalmist is comparing the wicked to the chaff. Hosea also describes the end for the wicked like this.

Hosea 13:2-3
2 And now they sin more and more, And make for themselves molten images, Idols skillfully made from their silver, All of them the work of craftsmen. They say of them, "Let the men who sacrifice kiss the calves!"
3 Therefore they will be like the morning cloud And like dew which soon disappears, Like chaff which is blown away from the threshing floor And like smoke from a chimney.
NASU

The chaff gets blown away, or it gets gathered up afterwards in someway and burned. Remember Jesus’ comments?

Matthew 3:12
12 "His winnowing fork is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clear His threshing floor; and He will gather His wheat into the barn, but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire." NASU

Notice Jesus speaks of unquenchable fire? That is the lake of fire, folks.

So don’t be like the wicked who rebel against God, who refuse to believe His Word. But do praise God that the wicked will one day be removed. Now there will be times when you see God doing that removal before your very eyes, other times God will do it after your time on earth. God is faithful and will not suffer the wicked to stay in the upper rooms of power. He will remove them and in many cases, suddenly. But keep knowing the Lord, He is God, the Great I AM, and He won’t allow the wicked to be able to stand on judgment day–they will be knocked to their knees, flat on their stomachs, and be sent to perdition. As it says in Psalms 1:5–the wicked won’t stand in the judgment, they won’t be able to keep their “arrogant position”, and they also won’t hang around with or associate with the righteous when they gather together to worship God. The wicked, the sinners, spoken of here wouldn’t want to go join the congregation of the righteous for they are repelled by righteousness.

Psalms 1:6
6 For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.

Yes, God keeps His eyes on the righteous to watch over and protect and guide and bless, but the ways of the wicked will be destroyed.

Folks, remember this, Jesus is coming soon. And it really looks like very very soon. Possibly in my life time. If my figuring is right–we are going to see the foundation of the 1 world government in December or January–plans have been laid for this for some time now, and once that foundation gets laid, the world rulers will set up that 1 world government, and sometime after that–we will see a world leader emerge as heading up that 1 world government. I believe it is likely to happen in this century–possibly by 2025. Jesus is coming soon, very soon. Maybe not before this 1 world government gets established, but I don’t know and none of us do, but it is really paramount we get the word out about the salvation of the cross before we leave this world. So get with it. Love, the Good News Lady
